Anton has made a signifcant impact in the rugby world as the Founding Director of the Western Province Rugby Academy (now WPIRI), where he helped build the Institute into the powerhouse that it is today. His passion for rugby has allowed him to establish numerous local and international relationships, helping to create some of today’s great rugby superstars. Anton recently fnished his season as the SWD Eagles Head Coach, where he experienced great success.

Arno Potgieter is a dedicated and compassionate counsellor with a strong academic grounding in psychology and a genuine passion for supporting others. He has completed his Honours degree in Clinical Psychology through UNISA and holds a BA degree in Psychology and English from Eduvos.

In addition to his formal qualifications, Arno has completed multiple specialised counselling courses, including the Enneagram Course with Suzette Fischer from Enneagram South Africa, the Imago Relationship Therapy Course, and the Humanitas Counsel Confidently Course.approach is holistic and client-centred, with a strong focus on psychological wellbeing, emotional development, and sustainable personal growth.

Roché Steenkamp

Roché combines world-class coaching with professional experience as a former Leopards and NWU player. His coaching career includes leading Patria to a Residence Varsity Cup victory and coaching the Leopards U/20 and U/21 Currie Cup squads. In 2024, he served as a consultant scrum coach for the Blue Bulls U/19 team. As the head of the LBBIRI campus in 2025, he led the institute to a Shield title in its inaugural year. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach for the U/21 Limpopo Blue Bulls.

Waldo van Heerden

Waldo holds a BA Honours degree in Human Movement Science (Biokinetics) from the University of Pretoria, along with certifications as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Personal Trainer. His coaching journey spans across a diverse range of sports and levels, from the Springbok Rugby team to South African Track and Field Athletes, Cricket Players, and beyond. Waldo’s impact is felt far and wide, showcasing his versatility and depth of knowledge in athlete development.

Francois Coetzer

Francois’ dedication to sport and coaching is evident in his ongoing pursuit of knowledge. Francois holds a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science, along with his World Rugby Level 1 Coaching qualification.In addition to his academic pursuits, Francois has made significant contributions as a video analyst for the Golden Lions Amateur Rugby Team and the De La Salle Holy Cross College 1st rugby team, as well as providing analysis for the Meroloma Premier Rugby Team (Canada) and the University of British Columbia Premier Rugby Team (Canada).
